I dream to live on Folly Beach 🌴

Folly Beach is 1 of the 3 main beaches in the Charleston area- right past James Island. 

It definitely has a “coastal beach town” feel, which I love. Folly = no shoes no shirt no prob. It’s of the more laid back islands for sure which I appreciate. 

Folly Beach used to be a short term rental island, but recently there’s been a cap put on STR permits. BUT, you can short term rent your home up to 72 days per year, or 30+ days anytime! 

This has definitely taken a toll on the home values on Folly, which is a shame! On the flip side- it’s a great time to take advantage of this shift if you’re looking for your next beach home! Many residents live full time on the island and absolutely love the lifestyle it offers! You could too. 

Some of my favorite restaurants and hangout spots are on Folly Beach, such as Jack of Cups Saloon and Chico Feos. I love ending my day on Folly with the Pineapple Hut soft serve- so good.

Folly Beach average home sales price for May 2024 was $1,367,000 with an average of 50 days on market. (Stat taken from CHS MLS)
